So I have new front tires now (yay!), but they are not the ones I ordered (boo!). The tire guy I normally deal with broke the news that what I ordered wouldn’t be here before I left for Nashville Friday, so I had to scramble and find what I could get locally. He gave me a refund and will give me a bit of a discount when it comes time to order tires again, so that’s cool at least.
I know it could always be worse, I just always seem to have rotten luck when it comes to my car. The tires I ended up getting are cheap, but they will at least do the job for now. I plan to just order 4 new tires later this year when I am not pressed for time and be done with it.

Do you run runflats?

Indeed. Plan to leave around 5am or so. I think I am gonna stop at Barber on the way up so I plan to get there right when they open so I can spend a couple hours there and still be at the hotel in Brentwood by mid afternoon.

I know I probably should, but I do not. I just never have liked runflats.

The Ms didn’t come with them and I’m replacing the ones on the 3 with AS3s.

I used Falkens last time and they were ok but I may try the Michelins when I get ready to change all 4. Have you used those in the past?

For the M3:
It came with Bridgestones on it, I don’t remember the model of tire. I had the rears replaced and the dealer put Michelin PS2s on the back, as they were the OEM tires. When it came time for fronts I went to the dealer and told them I wanted the same thing on the front as the back. This was my first foray into actually taking care of a car myself so I was clueless. They put Michelin A/S3s on the front. I hated the tires the whole time. After 20k, I needed rears again, so I didn’t make the same mistake and got 4 Michelin Pilot Sport 4s. Had them for all of 200 miles and I really like them a lot.
The 328i:
It came with Michelin Pilot Sport 2s on it. Despite having the same tires on the M3 and not liking them, I really liked them. Handled the wet really well, and even did alright in the frigid cold. Needed rears earlier this year, and since I was moving to a colder place, I replaced the rears with Michelin A/S3s. I had a good experience with those tires handling the road trip from Boston to Nashville in the IS-F. I’ve still got the PS2s on the front, but when it gets cold again, I have the A/S3s from my M3 to put on the front. Not running run flats anymore.
I’ve only really heard good things about Michelin tires and despite my experience with the M3, I like them. After all, I do run them on both cars. The M3 is going to full summer tires, PS4s, and the 328i is going to all seasons, A/S3s.
My 128i had Goodyear Eagles on it, and I don’t have any complaints about those.

Mine had Bridgestones too when I first bought it. We had experience with Falken tires in the past so that’s why I went with those the first time I replaced the tires and what I was going with again for the fronts until this happened. I think I may go with the Michelins now though based on that. Thanks!
